
Kota Kinabalu: A RM2.5 million Kampung Angkat Madani (KAM) project has transformed Kampung Torong Logong on Pulau Gaya in record time.
Officially launched by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Digital, Fabian Bigar, the project, a key initiative from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s Budget 2024, showcases the power of collaborative development.
In just four months, significant improvements have been made to the village’s infrastructure.
These include the upgrading of the local surau, the construction of new concrete roads and pedestrian bridges, the installation of tube wells with water filtration systems, and the provision of passenger boats.

The project’s success is a testament to the “Whole of Government” approach, highlighting the crucial collaboration between various government agencies, including the Sabah Federal Secretary’s Office, Sabah State Secretary’s Office, Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) under the Prime Minister’s Department, Giatmara Sabah, and the Sabah Department of Minerals and Geoscience.
Crucially, the project also benefited from the unwavering support of local communities, community leaders, and the private sector.
