BELURAN: Datuk Ronald Kiandee was accused of failing to bring significant changes during his five-term as Beluran Member of Parliament.

Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman Datuk Bung Moktar Radin said it was time for the people to elect a new leader to bring better development to the district.

Bung said Kiandee, who acted against the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-Barisan Nasional (GRS-BN) election pact by contesting under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) ticket in the 15th General Election (GE15) should be rejected.

He said the BN candidate for Beluran, Benedict Asmat is the best choice to replace Kiandee to support the development of Beluran.

“Unfortunately in Beluran, Kiandee does not accept the truth, so he goes against the tide. Out of a million people who go against the tide, only one survives.

“It used to be BN that made Kiandee win in Beluran for five terms or 25 years. We supported him in Beluran but what did he do, even the people here said that he brought nothing significant.

“Today, he said we are traitors, but he is the real traitor, the traitor of the people of Beluran. People like this must be punished, punish him, do not vote for Kiandee.

“Voting for Kiandee is haram for us, it is a must to vote candidate number one (BN candidate’s number on the ballot paper), this is a way to teach a leader who forget himself,” Bung said during his tour in Beluran.

Bung, who is also the BN candidate for Kinabatangan, said any leader in GRS and BN who goes against the current by supporting candidates from other parties should be removed.

He said it included village heads, village development and security committee (JPKK) members and government officials who clearly supported opposing candidates other than BN and GRS.

“I will meet Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor on this matter. Anyone who does not support our candidates will have action taken against them because Hajiji and I have already decided on the 25 GRS and BN candidates,” he said.

The Beluran parliamentary seat will see a five-cornered fight between Benedict Asmat (BN), Kiandee, Rowiena Rasid (Warisan), Hausing Sudin (Pejuang) and Felix Joseph Saang (PH).
