The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has summoned the Punjab BJP top brass for an urgent meeting in New Delhi on Friday evening.

Sources said BJP national organisation secretary B L Santosh would meet senior Punjab BJP leaders, including former state presidents, for an urgent meeting in New Delhi on Friday evening around 6 pm.

Sources said the meeting may discuss the appointment of new office-bearers for the Punjab unit, Punjab-specific political issues, and the party’s strategy for the 2027 Assembly elections.

Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon left for Delhi immediately after addressing a press conference in Chandigarh.

General secretary Anil Sareen and senior leader Ashwani Sharma are also among those called. Former state presidents Sunil Jakhar, Ravneet Singh Bittu, Vijay Sampla and Manoranjan Kalia have also been summoned.

Party leaders, not wishing to be quoted, termed the meeting routine and customary, as this would be the first meeting of the newly appointed state president Kewal Dhillon with the national organisation secretary.
