In a novel initiative to support talented students from government schools, the Punjab Government has started a special free residential coaching camp for students preparing for JEE and NEET examinations. The programme has been launched by the School Education Department under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

The residential summer coaching camp 2026 has been organised for Class X and XII students studying in Schools of Eminence (SOE) and Meritorious Schools across Punjab. The main aim of the camp is to provide strong academic guidance and quality preparation for national-level competitive examinations such as JEE (Main and Advanced) and NEET.

According to instructions issued by the Director (Secondary Education), the coaching camp began on June 5 and will continue till June 28, 2026. The 24-day residential programme has shortlisted around 3,000 meritorious students from different parts of the state.

The students have been accommodated in Meritorious Schools located in Bathinda, Jalandhar, Amritsar and Mohali. They are receiving intensive coaching while staying on the campus. One of the major highlights of the initiative is that expert tutors from reputed educational institutions across the country have been engaged to train the students. High-quality study material is also being provided to help them prepare effectively for the competitive exams.

The Punjab School Education Department is bearing the entire cost of the programme, including accommodation, meals, study material and coaching. As a result, the students are receiving this specialised training completely free of cost. To ensure proper management and student safety, teachers from various schools have also been assigned duty during the camp.

Education officials believe that the initiative will greatly benefit talented students, especially those from rural areas and economically weaker families. The programme is expected to help them compete with confidence in national entrance examinations and move closer to achieving their dreams of becoming doctors and engineers.
