Pupils to wear uniforms twice a week under new school attire rules in March

GOVERNMENT school students will be required to wear their unforms for only two days a week, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek announced today.

They will have to wear sports attire on two other days in the five-day week, and be in co-curricular dressing the remaining day.

These are part of the guidelines and rules for the students that were decided by the Ministry of Education (MOE) today.

Fadhlina announced it at the MOE’s council meeting for the new year in Putrajaya today.

She said that a circular as well as more detailed information regarding the new policy will be issued later.

Prior to this, some parents had been enquiring about rules for student dressing when the new school session begins in March.

Early notice on the rules and guidelines is important as parents need to make preparations and organise their finances for new purchases.

Also, Ramadan falls next month, making it even more pressing for them to plan for their children during the period.

The MOE had previously given flexibility in dressing to students in October 2021 which saw schools reopening fully after almost two years due to the Covid-19 outbreak. – The Vibes, January 19, 2024
