Put Sabah first, Sabah Umno told

LAHAD DATU: Sabah Umno Youth urged to place the Sabah Agenda at the centre of its political mission and to champion a moderate, mature and solution-oriented approach to politics for the future of the state.

Sabah Umno treasurer Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak made the call while officiating the Umno Youth Lahad Datu Division Delegates Meeting, led by Datuk Seri Anil Singh, Sabah Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports and Creative Economy.

According to Salleh, young leaders must focus on issues that directly affect the people, including employment opportunities, education, economic development, infrastructure and the overall well-being of Sabahans, rather than being distracted by unproductive political disputes.

He stressed that as part of the Sabah State Government, Barisan Nasional Sabah remains committed to supporting the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and the implementation of the Sabah Agenda.

“The role of BN in government is not to behave as a dominant party or to pursue positions and titles.

Our responsibility is to contribute towards political stability, support the government’s development agenda, and ensure that the benefits of development are enjoyed by the people, including party members at the grassroots level,” he said.

Salleh acknowledged that BN is not an equal partner in the current state government and that this reality must be accepted with political maturity.

“However, this does not prevent BN from playing a constructive role as a responsible partner in government. What matters is that Sabah continues to progress, the economy continues to grow, and our young people are provided with better opportunities and a brighter future.”He added that Sabah’s young generation must become advocates of moderation, unity and development, placing the interests of Sabah above narrow political considerations.
