Russian President Vladimir Putin has called US President Donald Trump to congratulate him on his 80th birthday, with Trump again pressing for a halt to hostilities in Ukraine during the call, the Russian state news agency TASS reported, citing Kremlin foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov.
The Iran war and bilateral relations were also discussed in Sunday's call, according to TASS.
Russia has been waging war against Ukraine since 2022. Washington has been pressing both sides to reach a peace settlement since Trump took office.
