  • Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the conscription of 160,000 more men into the army to fight the war in Ukraine.
  • The order applies to men aged 18 to 30, who will be drafted by mid-summer this year.
  • The move comes despite ongoing peace talks with Ukraine and the United States.
  • Mr Putin has offered to speak again with Donald Trump after the US president said he was angry at Mr Putin’s criticisms of Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
  • For the first time this year, Russia did not launch a mass overnight drone attack against civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.
