
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the release of 24 Filipinos who have been detained in the Russian city of Irkutsk in Siberia since mid-2025 over immigration issues.
"Afterin detention,inwill finally be on their way home to be reunited with their families," Marcos said in a social media post.
"I thankand thefor their assistance and cooperation in bringing this matter to a positive resolution," he added.
