Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Elon Musk as a genius and revealed Russia is in contact with him as it develops a rival satellite internet network.
Russia has launched over 30 low-orbit satellites as a first step toward building its independent satellite constellation, according to digital development minister Maksut Shadayev.
Putin emphasized the need to maintain orbital discipline and order to avoid interfering with American satellite systems.
The announcement comes after Ukraine experienced temporary speed restrictions on Starlink terminals, disrupting drone operations and battlefield communications.
Ukraine reported that Starlink and Starshield services are now fully functional again, while Musk accused the Ukrainian military of violating SpaceX terms.
