Kota Kinabalu: The Public Works Department (PWD) and Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) have been authorised as the Implementing Agency for Federal development projects in Sabah valued at RM50 million and below, said an official.

Assistant Finance Minister Datuk Julita Mojungki said the departments are also authorised to invite, open, evaluate, recommend and certify tenders for the Sabah Government Procurement Board’s consideration.

“Procurement procedures for the projects in question are based on Treasury Instructions and Federal Treasury Circulars that are in effect,” she said during question time at the State Legislative Assembly sitting, here, Tuesday.

She was responding to Tempasuk assemblyman Datuk Mohd Arsad Bistari who asked if the State Government had the power to manage the allocation and acquisition of these projects.
