A truck driver, Mohd Sukri Mondi, 35, had an unexpected encounter when he discovered a python ‘tumpang’ on the back of his truck at Simpang Ampat Toll Plaza.

Initially mistaking it for black plastic stuck to the vehicle, Mohd Sukri was startled when it suddenly moved, revealing itself as a live python staring at him.

According to Berita Harian, Mohd Sukri quickly called Malaysia’s Civil Defence Force (APM) for assistance. He believes the snake crawled onto his five-ton truck near a riverbank in Subang, Selangor, where he briefly stopped earlier without incident.

Thought it was a black plastic

“At a rest stop in Seremban, I didn’t notice the snake, so I continued to Malim to deliver drinks to a Shell gas station. It was only when I stopped at Simpang Ampat Toll Plaza for a restroom break that I realized what I thought was black plastic under dim lighting was actually a snake,” Mohd Sukri explained.

Responding to Mohd Sukri’s early morning call, APM officers swiftly arrived and safely captured the nearly two-meter-long, one-kilogram python.

The incident caused a brief stir but was resolved without harm at Simpang Ampat Toll Plaza.
