Manchester United have informed AS Roma what they want to sell Chris Smalling.
This week, Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi made a 10m offer for the on-loan defender - which was turned down by United.
Corriere dello Sport says United, however, is prepared to sell Smalling.
Petrachi was told it will take 18m to buy him outright. However, Roma are reluctant to go higher than 12m.
The Giallorossi have already coughed up 3m for Smalling's 12 month loan.
