Lee Minhyuk, better known by his stage name, HUTA (for his solo activities) is set to make a splash at WATERBOMB SINGAPORE 2025, the wildly popular water-themed music festival returning to Sentosa’s Silosa Beach this August. As a member of the beloved K-pop group, BTOB, HUTA has long been known for his versatility within the team: rap, dance and vocals? He can do it all.
His solo persona, however, brings something different to the table. Think bold, high-energy sounds paired with sleek choreography and an even edgier performance stye. From hits like BOOM to the title track (Bora) from his latest album, HOOK, HUTA’s solo work has carved out a powerful, polished and magnetic identity that’s truly his to own.
This will be HUTA’s first time performing in WATERBOMB SINGAPORE and expectations are high. As part of Team Pink on August 30, he joins a star-studded lineup that includes Taemin, Minho and EXID. Ahead of his big debut on the WATERBOMB SINGAPORE 2025 stage, we caught up with HUTA to talk about what fans can expect from his stage, how he would dress for a music festival, and what he’s looking forward to the most during his performance.
Pleasure to e-meet you HUTA. Let’s start by having you share with us about your recent comeback.
This is ‘HUTA’ Lee Minhyuk, back after three years with my latest album, ‘HOOK’, packed with seven title-worthy songs! I’ve successfully completed the first week of music shows and am now diligently preparing for Waterbomb Singapore.
You have been to Singapore before with BTOB. What’s your best memory of Singapore? Do you have a favourite Singaporean dish?
I remember how incredibly delicious the chili crab was and how much fun the G-Max Reverse Bungy in the city was.
You performed in many WATERBOMB stages. What can your fans and festivalgoers expect from you this time at WATERBOMB SINGAPORE 2025?
I believe this will be my first performance as HUTA in Singapore, making every stage feel new and exciting! Please look forward to an energetic and vibrant show!
Are you bringing something new and different this time? What are you most excited about / look forward to the most?
The most anticipated aspect is definitely the energy and cheers from the local audience. I’m hopeful that even with a language barrier, if I convey energy well through my music and performance, they will reciprocate with great energy and enthusiasm.
What aspect(s) of a music festival like WATERBOMB appeals to you?
It might seem repetitive, but the word that comes to mind is ‘energy.’ Being at the core of that explosive energy, where everyone unites as one, is an incredibly thrilling and enjoyable experience.
How would you dress up for a music festival? What is your ideal festival fit?
It would depend on the festival’s theme (TPO – Time, Place, Occasion). Of course, since it’s Waterbomb, I believe a visually refreshing and ‘cool’ style would be most appropriate.
What are three things you must have with you at a music festival?
Water, a handheld fan, and mental preparation.
Can you drop us three words to describe your anticipated WATERBOMB SINGAPORE 2025 performance?
Energy, passion and youth.
