
(UPDATE) MOTORISTS are advised to expect slow-moving vehicular traffic on several major roads in Quezon City early Sunday morning as a tunnel-boring machine for the Metro Manila Subway Project will be transported from Plaridel, Bulacan, to the North Avenue Station site in Quezon City.
The Quezon City government said the transport operation will take place this morning, May 24, from 2:45 a.m. to 6 a.m.
Traffic slowdown is expected along the following roads:
City officials said the tunnel boring machine will be used to dig subway tunnels connecting the North Avenue Station and Quezon Avenue Station of the subway project.
The city government said personnel from the Traffic and Transport Management Department, and the Department of Public Order and Safety will be deployed to help manage traffic flow during the transport activity.
Motorists were advised to take alternative routes to avoid possible delays.
The Metro Manila Subway Project is the country’s first underground railway system, which is expected to connect Quezon City to Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City once completed, with several stations planned across Metro Manila.
