
MANILA, Philippines — The death toll from the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Mindanao on June 8 has climbed to 65, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Monday.
The agency said 36 people are missing 1,400 were injured, mostly in Regions 11 and 12.
More than 3,000 families remain in evacuation centers.
Around 14 local government units have declared a state of calamity. Damage to public and private infrastructure was estimated at P1.3 billion.
