Kota Kinabalu: Queen Elizabeth II who passed away on Thursday at age 96 after serving as Britain’s longest-serving monarch will continue to be remembered in Sabah, the former British North Borneo.
This is because Sabah is probably the only Malaysian State where at least three major landmarks bear her name or those of the royal family.
These are the Queen Elizabeth Hospital built in 1957, the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sandakan built earlier and Prince Philip Park in Tg Aru that was named after her husband in 1972.
