Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has wrote them off as a title contender.

Solskjaer accepts that the Premier League title is already beyond United in November with his team in 10th place in the table, 18 points behind leaders Liverpool.

He said: "I don't want to stop winning in cups because the Premier League trophy is out of our reach. We are too far behind the top teams. Any trophy you can get your hands on we are going to go for, but we need to improve our league form definitely.

"We played Brighton quite early when I came in last year and I thought they gave us a really good game. I thought we were lucky to win.

"They have loads of footballers who are comfortable on the ball. The last four games they've really turned a corner for me and are dominating teams, controlling games.

"Even the defeat against Villa they were drawing that until the sending off (of Aaron Mooy). The last four I count as wins for them really. We've got to have loads of energy to go about pressing them because we can't let them be confident here at Old Trafford."
