Race Across the World pairs finish just hours apart after crucial mistake

Two Race Across the World pairs finished just hours apart from each other after a crucial mistake prompted a huge setback for one of the teams.

Father and daughter Andrew and Molly, best friends Jo and Kush, in-laws Mark and Margo, and siblings Katie and Harrison went head to head, travelling 7,460 miles through Europe and Asia.

Thursday's (21 May) final saw the winning pair reach the final checkpoint in Hatgal, Mongolia, and claim the £20,000 prize.

However, there were just hours between the pair who came first and those who came second, as a wrong turn sparked a huge setback for one team.

The pair were forced to make a 400km detour after accidentally travelling to an incorrect location with the same name as their next destination.
