Issues of race and religion have become the bread and butter in Malaysia's politics despite its capability to threaten the nation's peace and harmony. However, the latest election has left a wedge among Malaysians as some parties have taken to social media and made content that caused racial issues to rise.
According to a TikTok video from Malaysia Gazette, the Hulu Langat's MP and Templer ADUN representative, Mohd Sany Hamzan had raised the question regarding these accusations.
Sany stated all the accusations that Pakatan Harapan had received came from PAS, which he repeated the party's name 3 times just to make it clear.
"You have previously become part of the government with PN as well as the former government under Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri. But why, why are you not investigating us?", says Sany.
"You had accused and slandered us on many things, LGBT, Communism, Christianizing Malaysia and rejecting Islam, toppling the royal institution, rejecting the Malay language. You even accused those who don't vote for you will be sent to hell and want to kill the non-muslim," added Sany passionately.
Sany expressed his frustration over those accusations, asking what kind of politics are they trying to endorse.
"We had been independent for 65 years. Our nation's politics should have been mature, academic and have integrity."
Sany also expressed his disdain over the lack of factual debate and simply argues based on baseless accusations.
"They are religious extremists and riders."
Sany stated he would move a motion to the Prime Minister as he believed the nation is in danger due to extreme religious doctrines used as propaganda in the latest election.
"We would remind the Prime Minister to not get the power into his head. So many baseless accusations thrown by the opposition such as those who vote for PH can't pray. We need to take action on these issues as it could lead to the destruction of our beloved nation."
This is not the first time Sany brought up this issue as he takes the argument to the Selangor state assembly.
