Rafizi expresses support for Aminuddin amid Negeri Sembilan political turmoil

PANDAN MP Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli has expressed his support for Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun following the political turmoil unfolding in the state, describing the latter as akin to an elder brother.

In a Facebook post, Rafizi said he was not fully aware of the details surrounding the situation but had contacted Aminuddin earlier on Monday morning to check on his well-being.

“I am not privy to what exactly is happening in Negeri Sembilan.  Aminuddin Harun is like an elder brother to me, and his wife is like a sister to my wife.

“I can only pray from afar, as a younger brother would for his elder sibling. I managed to call him around 10 am today.”

“I just wanted to ask how he was doing. He sounded cheerful and in good spirits. He said he had just visited two schools and planned to visit four more today, but had stopped briefly at a stall to have breakfast with his wife,” he said in a Facebook post.

Earlier, 14 Barisan Nasional (BN) state assembly members (ADUN) in Negeri Sembilan unanimously announced that they had lost confidence in the state government led by Aminuddin and had withdrawn their support.

The decision follows a crisis reportedly involving the state’s customary institutions and constitutional matters.

Despite the development, Rafizi said he was not overly concerned about Aminuddin’s situation, expressing confidence in the latter’s character and ability to handle challenges.

“I have known him since he lived in a single-storey terrace house, and his character has remained unchanged. Whatever happens, God willing, it will not disturb Tok Min (Aminuddin) and Kak Wan (Datin Seri Wan Hasni Wan Yusof). There is wisdom in everything.

“That is the strength of those who understand that rank and position are merely a trust, something temporarily entrusted to them,” he added. – April 27, 2026
