Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is set to join the ‘Sadbhav Yatra’ of Haryana Congress leader Brijendra Singh in Gurugram on May 8.
According to information, Gandhi will join Brijendra in his yatra at about 4 pm in Gurugram city and walk for about two hours to finally address a public meeting in Gurugram Assembly segment.
There have been differences among Haryana Congress leaders, with some, including former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, describing the yatra as a “personal event” of Brijendra Singh, adding that every Congress leader can undertake such programmes to strengthen the party.
The former BJP MP Brijendra Singh has joined the Congress just before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Later, he contested the Assembly election from his home Uchana Kalan Assembly segment in Jind district but lost by a narrow margin of 32 votes.
Brijendra embarked on the ‘Sadbhav yatra’ in Haryana in October 2025 and has covered about 81 Assembly segments out of total 90 Assembly constituencies across the state in the seven phases of the yatra. He is yet to cover five Assembly segments in Gurgugram district, and two Assembly segments each in Jhajjar and Rohtak districts.
