Rail line closed for a week after fatal Bedford train crash

  • A train crash in which a train driver died and 100 people were injured has been described as a “tragic, isolated incident”.
  • Nine people are still in critical condition after the crash near Bedford on Friday.
  • The incident involved a Luton Airport Express train colliding into the back of an East Midlands Railway train around 5pm.
  • The railway line between Bedford and London St Pancras will remain closed until 28 June for a "complex" recovery operation.
