
KUALA LUMPUR – The search-and-rescue operation at the site of the Batang Kali landslide was halted around 2.30pm today due to the rain.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Hafisham Mohd Noor was quoted as saying this by Utusan Malaysia.
Search efforts entered day six as seven victims are still missing.
Meanwhile, Buletin TV3 reported Hulu Selangor district police chief Suffian Abdullah as saying that victim number 26 was found together with a dog at 11.16am today.
The authorities have yet to identify the victim, but said it was a man.
The remains have been sent to Sg Buloh Hospital for post-mortem.
“We have identified that the victim was an adult male, but we have yet to determine his race and age.
“The remains of the two dogs found by the search-and-rescue team have been handed to the Veterinary Department.” – The Vibes, December 21, 2022
