In a stunning display of bravado, Raja Petra Kamaruddin on his latest YouTube channel has graciously offered to spare the Malaysian government the agony of attempting his extradition from the UK.
How thoughtful of him!
In a masterstroke, he even volunteered to have his statement recorded at any Malaysian embassy, provided they foot the bill for his royal travel and luxurious stay.
Seemingly unfazed by allegations of plotting the so-called Dubai Move, Raja Petra brushed off Interpol's lack of interest in issuing a Red Notice for him, proudly pointing out that even Jho Low, the elusive financier of the 1MDB scandal, isn't on the list.
It's almost as if having a Red Notice is the new must-have accessory for disgraced public figures.
But fear not, dear Malaysians, for Raja Petra generously offered to share his contacts to help authorities track down Jho Low. What a humanitarian gesture!
One can only imagine the gratitude swelling in the hearts of law enforcement.
Our blogger extraordinaire went on to educate us about the intricacies of extradition, making it abundantly clear that Malaysia and the UK don't share the cozy comfort of an extradition treaty.
In a move that would make Sherlock Holmes proud, he elucidated the necessity for the Malaysian government to prove "dual criminality" – a crime in Malaysia must also be a crime in the UK.
Perhaps they'll need a British detective with a penchant for Malaysian legal intricacies.
But wait, there's more! Raja Petra, ever the philanthropist, mocked the IGP's concern about the Dubai Move.
According to him, predicting political upheaval is just a casual chat in the UK – a land where toppling leaders is practically a national pastime, protected under the sacred umbrella of freedom of speech.
In a grand finale, Raja Petra revealed his willingness to repeat his statement on the Dubai Move, but not without the Malaysian government greasing the wheels with RM50,000 – a modest sum for a man of such refined taste, preferring the Mandarin Oriental in Singapore and Kempinski in Bangkok for his week-long sojourns.
So, Malaysia, brace yourselves for the great extradition drama, where the protagonist believes he holds all the aces and is graciously extending an invitation for you to foot the bill.
What a superb time in history to be alive!
