Syed Esa Shaqir Samir is among the many home-based entrepreneurs taking-up stalls at the Ramadan Bazaar in Putrajaya Precint 3 nearby Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque, hoping to do brisk sales during the festive season. Together with another young entrepreneur, they rented the stall to sell traditional Terengganu 'Nasi Dagang & Nasi Minyak' with nice fish and chicken curry. They're confident that the pent-up demand for indigenous food will lift up their business for substantial profit.

Syed said "We're initially apprehensive, we're thinking would people still be eager to try our stuff after being so used to home delivery service. Thankfully the response has been overwhelming so far. Crowds throng our small stall with jubilant mood and our food all sold off. It is almost comparable to the good old pre-pandemic days".

Their stall is nicely located alongside other popular stalls at the busy location of Putrajaya Ramadan Bazaar. From the early Ramadan, business started to pick-up for them and all other nearby stalls. "People started queuing before we even opened our stall. And within one-and-a-half or two hours, we're all sold out," Syed added.

Most of aspiring entrepreneurs chose Ramadan Bazaars for their debut as it is a well known event among both the local, foreign Muslim and non-Muslim communities. They wanted to take full advantage to market and expose their F&B brands. Many aspiring entrepreneurs are deeply encouraged by the prospects of real good crowd.

From Syed's experience, there's a lot to be learned for seizing opportunities instead of waiting for someone to hand it to us. There are always white spaces ready to be filled and golden nuggets of opportunities lying on the ground waiting for someone to pick them up. It means looking across the street or around the difficult corners.
