LAHAD DATU: The holy month of Ramadan not only serves as the time for the Muslims to strengthen their faith and worship but also an opportunity to strengthen the unity among the people.

Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad (KTC) Executive Director, Datuk Dexter Lau expressed his joy seeing the harmonious environment among the people, regardless of races and religions in this country.

Dexter said Ramadan is a time that calls for good deeds, helping each other and to further strengthen relationships regardless of background.

“We are happy to be able to help the people through such programme, although we only play small roles in helping the people,” he said.

Dexter said this during the Breaking of Fast and Raya Shopping in conjunction with Jelajah Iftar 2025 sponsored by KTC at Lahad Datu, Sunday.

The programme which was jointly organized by KTC and Unit Pemimpin Pembangunan Masyarakat (UPPM) Sabah was officiated by Kunak Assemblywoman, Datuk Norazlinah Arif.

During the ceremony, KTC also announced the contribution of RM10,000 for Tokong Kwan Tee, Lahad Datu.

“This contribution is very meaningful. When requested for contribution, I do not hesitate, regardless of races and religions,” he added.

In the meantime, Norazlinah while delivering her speech said, it is heartening to see the spirit of unity shown by Dexter and KTC, who are ready to help and enliven the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration for those in need despite different races and religions.
