Ramanan pledges to champion Malaysia MADANI vision

DEPUTY Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, has thrown his hat into the ring for one of the four Vice-President posts in the upcoming PKR elections, pledging to amplify the voice of the Malaysia MADANI movement within the party’s leadership.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Ramanan, who is also PKR’s Deputy Information Chief I and the Member of Parliament for Sungai Buloh, emphasised the party’s multiracial character and the importance of inclusivity in shaping its future direction.

“PKR is a party that prioritises, values, and celebrates all races in the power-sharing process at the branch, state, and central levels,” Bernama quoted him saying, noting that his decision to contest was grounded in the belief that “KEADILAN, as a multiracial party, must continue to be strengthened with the voices and aspirations of all layers of society.”

Ramanan, who has also been tasked with overseeing Indian community affairs, pledged to serve as a bridge between grassroots members and top leadership. “I am committed to bringing the voice of KEADILAN members to the mainstream of the party’s leadership, ensuring inclusivity, justice, and equal opportunities for all,” he said.

He further called for unity among PKR members under the banner of President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership.

“This election is not just about selecting leaders, but about determining the direction of the party in upholding the ideals of reform we have long embraced. With your support, we will continue to move forward as a party that truly represents the voice of the Malaysia MADANI people in line with the Malaysia MADANI vision,” he said.

Ramanan first announced his candidacy for the party vice-presidency on March 24, declaring his intent to strengthen PKR from the grassroots to the national level in preparation for the 16th General Election (GE16). - May 11, 2025
