Rantau Panjang MP injured in accident

RANTAU Panjang Member of Parliament Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff sustained chest and abdominal injuries after the SUV she was travelling in was involved in a single-vehicle accident at Kilometre 7 of the Lingkaran Tengah Utama (LTU) highway in Kechau Tui on Sunday.

Lipis District Police Chief Superintendent Ismail Man said the incident occurred at approximately 6:00 pm while the vehicle was being driven by the victim's 26-year-old daughter.

According to him, the mother and daughter were travelling from Gua Musang, Kelantan, to Kuala Lumpur for work-related purposes.

“Upon reaching the scene, the SUV driver is believed to have lost control, causing the vehicle to spin and crash into the road barrier on the right.

“The driver was uninjured in the accident, while the passenger—the Member of Parliament for Rantau Panjang—sustained injuries to the chest and abdomen,” he said in a statement.

Ismail stated that the injured victim was rushed to Kuala Lipis Hospital for further treatment.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He appealed for cooperation from the public or any witnesses to come forward with information to assist the investigation. – October 12, 2026
