
Kota Kinabalu: The Sessions Court fixed May 3 for further mention the case of a 24-year-old security guard charged with raping an underaged girl.
Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan set the date for Hanafie Roslan when his case was brought up for mention to review the status of the medical report, Monday.
The prosecution had informed the court that the medical report is still pending and asked postponement for six weeks.
The prosecution also told the court that they would try their best to get the report.
Hanafie is accused of raping the 15-year-old girl in August 2020 at a house in Taman Sri Rugading, Tuaran.
The offence under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.
The court extended Hanafie’s bail pending the disposal of his case.
Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Najihah Farhana Che Awang appeared for the prosecution while counsel Mohd Ari Nadzrah Abd Rahman defended Hanafie.
In another case, a 29-year-old man charged with having 32.8gm of syabu, will have his case for further mention on April 17 pending the chemist report.
The court gave the date for Mohd Basir Erie Deejay, after being informed by the prosecution that the chemist report is not ready yet.
The prosecution told the court that they needed two weeks for the report to be ready.
DPP Darcia Jane Romanus prosecuted the case while Mohd Basir was not represented.
