The new system will show which coaches are full and which still have room before the train even arrives. Acting CEO Nor Azmi Mohd Yusof said it’s meant to make boarding smoother and less stressful.

“Passengers will be able to plan where to stand and queue more efficiently. It should reduce the mad rush into the wrong coach,” he said.

These upgraded cameras will be able to detect unusual behaviour, identify weapons, and even catch men entering women-only coaches.

Nor Azmi stressed that protecting female commuters is a major focus, as they make up 60% of Rapid Rail’s daily ridership.

"Women-only coaches are already available on the MRT Kajang and Putrajaya lines, as well as the Ampang and Sri Petaling LRT lines," the exec stated.

“Any fare adjustments must first be approved by the Ministry of Transport. At this point, we have received no directive from the ministry or from Prasarana,” he clarified.
