Minnesota’s Rapidan Dam in is in an “imminent failure” condition, as heavy rainfall has triggered deadly flash floods in midwestern states.

Footage shared by Randy Hanson from the riverbank shows a building being swept away by the rushing floodwaters.

Parts of South Dakota and Iowa have also seen extreme floods, destroying businesses and healthcare facilities.

“Hospitals, nursing homes and other care facilities were evacuated. Cities are without power, and some are without drinkable water”, Governor Kim Reynolds said.

According to South Dakota’s governor, one person has died from the floods in their state.
