Rapper who twice escaped police custody ‘smuggled out of UK in lorry’

  • Drill rapper Daniel Boakye, known as dsavv, has been detained in France after more than two weeks on the run following two escapes from custody in London.
  • The 21-year-old first fled from West Middlesex University Hospital on 10 February, was recaptured the next day, and then escaped again from Lewisham Hospital on 15 February.
  • Boakye was arrested in La Bouexiere, Brittany, north-western France, on Monday evening, as confirmed by the Metropolitan Police on Tuesday.
  • It is believed he was smuggled out of the UK in a lorry after his second escape from police custody.
  • Arrangements are now being made for his return to custody in the UK, where he was originally being held at HMP Feltham on robbery charges.
