Doorbell camera video has captured a rare leopard and a giraffe roaming just 20 metres away from a South African couple's home.

Ring footage shows the animal paying a visit to a water trough installed by Deon Geldenhuys and his wife, Kim Smith, who installed the camera to monitor the nearby animals.

The couple live a 30-minute drive from Kruger National Park. Captured on camera include a giraffe, nicknamed "Osi-One" due to a broken ossicone (horn), a rare leopard with a unique spot pattern, and a family of Chacma baboons drinking from the trough before a baby monkey falls in.
