INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new co-owner of Manchester United, is ready to take the club back to the top.

Ratcliffe has officially confirmed his purchase of 27.7% of the Old Trafford club through its A and B shares.

He is now ready, per The Mail and other sources, to reduce his role at French side Nice.

Ratcliffe wants to ensure United have no issues should the two teams compete in the same European competition next season.

UEFA rules do stipulate the same entity cannot own two teams, although there are ways around the rules.

The Red Bull clubs have not been given any problems, while the City Football Group also comprises many teams.
