Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah West Coast Smart Consumers Association urged supermarkets to maintain strict hygiene and schedule pest control measures.
Its President David Chan said this in light of rat infestation at a grocery chain at Foh Sang in Luyang, where a rat was seen roaming freely along the shelves of fresh produce.
A seven second recording of the incident surfaced on social media last Thursday prompting the Health Department to serve a two-week closure order under Section 11 of the Food Act.
