Kuala Lumpur: The Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will be held in seven states, beginning with Johor tomorrow.

The event secretariat said in a statement that the celebrations will be held in Sabah on April 20, Melaka on April 22, Kelantan on May 2, Kedah on May 4, Penang on May 5, and Terengganu on May 9.

The programme in Sabah, a national-level celebration, will be hosted by the state government with the national unity ministry as the lead ministry, at the Sabah International Convention Centre in Kota Kinabalu, from 10.30am to 3pm.

In Johor, it will be held at Padang Begonia, Angsana Johor Bahru Mall, from 4pm to 7pm. It will be hosted by the state government, with the defence ministry as the lead ministry.

Read more According to the secretariat, the celebrations involve collaborations between state governments as hosts and lead ministries as joint implementers.

The prime minister is scheduled to be the main guest at each celebration, which the menteris besar or chief ministers of the respective states will also attend.
