Alvaro Garcia says former Rayo Vallecano teammate Fran Garcia will have to get nasty to succeed at Real Madrid.
The pair enjoyed a great partnership with Rayo before Fran was re-signed by Real Madrid last summer.
He told Jot Down Sport: I don't know if I made him a better player. To be at Real Madrid it is evident that he is very good. And we get along well. Very good. In fact, we are still talking.
"For me, Fran is that type of person who deserves everything good that happens to him. He couldn't be more humble despite being a Madrid youth team. And that honors him.
I was lucky to make friends with him. On December 31 he came with my parents and my uncles to have dinner with my entire family. Now, my son sees Fran on television and quickly says, 'look, dad, Fran Garca,' and for all of us it is very important."
Alvaro also said: "His problem is his personality. He is too good. Maybe to be there you have to bring out the evil more. If you have the ball, make the play, don't leave it to anyone.
"He must have that personality because he can. In his situation I don't know what I would do, that's also true. But he's going to take it out, for sure, because he arrives first and leaves last in the gym. He has to behave as if he were in Rayo and he will succeed."
