Razon leads 15 Filipinos in Forbes billionaires list

FIFTEEN Filipinos earned spots in Forbes’ 2026 World’s Billionaires List, an annual ranking that now comprises a record 3,428 individuals — 400 more than last year — worth a combined $20.1 trillion, $4 trillion higher compared to 2025.

Topping the Filipino roster is Enrique Razon Jr., chairman of International Container Terminal Services Inc., the Philippines’ largest port operator, who ranks 175th with an estimated net worth of $16.5 billion.

San Miguel Corp. Chairman Ramon Ang is the second-richest, with a net worth of $3.6 billion, which placed him 1,189th on the overall list.

Rounding out the top five are LT Group founder and Chairman Lucio Tan (1,223rd with $3.5 billion), Vista Land & Lifescapes Chairman Manuel Villar Jr. ($3.1 billion, 1,376th) and SM Investments Corp. Vice Chairman Henry Sy Jr. ($2.5 billion, 1,676th).

His brothers, Hans and Herbert, follow in joint 2,274th place with net worths of $1.8 billion, and another brother, Harley, is 2,386th along with Alliance Global chairman Andrew Tan with $1.7 billion each.

Ranked 2,481st, meanwhile, are Puregold Price Club founder Lucio L. Co and another Sy, Teresita Sy‑Coson, with net worths of $1.6 billion.

The last of the Sy siblings, Elizabeth, and Co’s wife, Susan, were in joint 2,600th with $1.5 billion.

Jollibee Food Corp.’s founder and Chairman Tony Tan Caktiong ranked 3,185th with $1.1 billion, while STI Education Systems Chairman Eusebio Tanco rounds out the list at 3,332nd with $1.0 billion.

Globally, Elon Musk is the world’s richest, with a net worth of $849 billion, followed by Google co-founders Larry Page ($257 billion) and Sergey Brin ($237 billion). Amazon’s Jeff Bezos is fourth with $224 billion and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg rounds out the top five with $222 billion.

The US was said to have the most billionaires at 989, 15 of whom are in the top 20. China, including Hong Kong, is next with 610, and India, with 229, is third.

“There has never been a better time to be a billionaire,” Forbes said, noting that a surge in artificial intelligence take-up, surging markets and favorable fiscal policies had led to this year’s record list.
