Real Madrid will block Alvaro Rodriguez from playing for Uruguay at the U20 World Cup next month.
Efe says Real are refusing to release the youngster for the tournament.
A source from the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) has stated they have been officially notified by Real Madrid that they will not allow the player to leave.
Alvaro was superb for Uruguay in the U20 South American Championship earlier this year.
But Real Madrid regard the 18 year-old too valuable to let go at the business end of the season.
