Real Madrid chief Emilio Butragueno has paid tribute to Casemiro.
The new Manchester United signing was given an official farewell by Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Monday morning.
Butragueno said: "It was a very special day for everyone because Real Madrid knows what Casemiro represents for our club.
"He closes a stage and does so as a legend of Real Madrid. In addition to a spectacular record, he brings with him the affection, the admiration of all of us, teammates, coach and all the fans.
"He opens a new chapter in his life and we wish both Casemiro and his family the best. Real Madrid will always be his home."
