Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is baffled by Vinicius Jr being left off FIFPro's Player of the Year nominees.
Ancelotti was speaking ahead of their clash with Elche this week.
He said, "I do not know the list, if Vinicius is not there it seems strange to me.
"It must have been an error."
Real Madrid return to the LaLiga after winning the Club Wprld Cup in Morocco.
Ancelotti also said: "Real Madrid's story says that winning helps win. When you win you feel things you want to repeat. Last year is a great motivation to try to repeat it. It is a motivation for us to try this and we will do it from tomorrow. We have a disadvantage in the league."
