Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal says Mario Hermoso deserved to be sent off for Atletico Madrid yesterday.
Real Madrid won 2-1 at the Metropolitano and Carvalho says Hermoso's red card was warranted.
He said: "In the end, everything comes from an entry with Reinildo on the opposite field, there is a stir and for us it is even good because the game stops.
"I think Mario is wrong there, but if the referee has given a card to him, it is because he deserves it."
On Rodrygo Goes' performance, Carvajal added: "We said it during the week, Karim (Benzema) is a fundamental piece for us, but we have a spectacular squad. Tonight it was Rodrygo's turn to act as a '9' and I think he came out and scored a great goal."
