Thibaut Courtois calls out racist abuse from Albacete fans targeting Vinicius Junior, as the Brazilian star continues to face discrimination in Spain.

MADRID: Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has condemned racist chants directed at his teammate Vinicius Junior by Albacete fans.

The abuse occurred near the stadium before Wednesday’s Copa del Rey last 16 clash.

Courtois, who was not involved in the match, shared a video of the incident on Instagram with the caption “enough of the racism, this is disgusting”.

Brazilian winger Vinicius, 25, has been repeatedly targeted with racial abuse by opposition fans during his time in Spain.

In June last year, four Atletico Madrid ultras received suspended jail sentences for hanging a dummy of Vinicius from a bridge.

Police classified that incident as a “hate crime”.

Vinicius started the match against Albacete, which was new coach Alvaro Arbeloa’s first game in charge.

Arbeloa replaced Xabi Alonso on Monday.
