Real Mallorca coach Javier Aguirre admitted frustration after defeat to former club Atletico Madrid.

Mallorca lost 1-0 via Antoine Griezmann's winner for Atletico.

Aguirre said: "We lacked a bit of audacity, holding Atltico for so long is difficult and in the last minutes it didn't matter if we lost by two or by three. We had some opportunities, the game was divided and it is not good to play back and forth against a team like Atltico, you usually come out defeated, but Griezmann's goal forces us to stretch.

"It wasn't enough but the team comes out stronger because it knows how to compete, we didn't win but we competed, the team comes out stronger for the next three games at home."

On the ovation he received from Atletico fans, Aguirre said: "The people are very generous, they have always been good to me, it has been years since I left the house but we have mutual respect.

"My son was a member here and it is always the affection of the public that he maintains, it is appreciated that they remember me with affection."
