Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguacil was delighted with their Champions League win at Benfica.
La Real won 1-0 thanks to Brais Mendez's winner.
Imanol said: "The start was tough. We played against a great team, a historic club, we came with respect and ambition, we wanted to dare. To win in this stadium you have to do everything well, in attack and defence a 10. We had fun on the pitch. The score was very tight.
"The team had personality when it came to pressing, without fear, doing a great job on a defensive and offensive level, against Benfica who played a lot in front of their fans. Everything went perfectly, this is now a habit, and I say this without wanting to sin with pride. We are missing two points, nothing has been decided yet.
"Mendez? I don't like to individualise. The work without the ball is fundamental, and he does an incredible job, it's as if he has been with us all his life."
