Real Sociedad midfielder David Silva has announced his retirement.
The 37 year-old has decided to hang up the boots after suffering an ACL injury in training last week.
The Manchester City great announced in a video on social media: "Today is a sad day for me.
"Today is the time to say goodbye to what I have dedicated my whole life to.
"Today is the time to say goodbye to my teammates, who are like family to me.
"I will miss you very much; Chs, Armeros, Celtinas, Citizens and Txuri Urdines (the names of the fan groups of the clubs he has played for, ed.).
"Thank you for making me feel at home."
