Manchester United players reportedly blame their poor start to the season on poor conditioning.

Many in the Old Trafford dressing room, per The Guardian, blame Erik ten Hag for overworking them in preseason.

United ended last season jaded after playing so many games, more than any other side in Europe.

However, the report adds that United players feel there was too much conditioning work in preseason.

United have 16 injuries so far this term, while they have struggled to keep pace with the top sides in the Premier League.

The Red Devils played eight games in five countries over a 25-day preseason, far more than teams such as Manchester City.

City recognized they could not overburden their players with game time when the season had not yet started.
