Kota Kinabalu: The woman driver of a Toyota Vios is in hot soup after running a red light and subsequently hitting two motorcyclists near the Bataras Hypermarket in Kolombong.

A dash cam recording of the 8.20am incident Friday went viral.

City Deputy Police Chief Supt Kalsom Idris said the condition of the victim, 26, who took the brunt of the impact was stabilising at Queen Elizabeth Hospital 2.

“The male victim on a Modenas Kriss was making his way into Kolombong when struck by the car headed towards the city.

“The case is being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving,” she said.

In the comment section of Video DashCam Sabah, a woman claiming to be the victim’s sister said the man is placed in the Red Zone and put in an induced coma for traumatic brain injury.

The other motorcyclist can count himself lucky to only escape with scrapes and bruises.
