A group of motorcyclists has come under heavy fire online after a video showed them performing the notorious “Superman” stunt while speeding along the North-South Expressway, and even blocking an ambulance that was rushing to an accident scene.

The incident was shared on TikTok by an ambulance driver, who said he was on his way to provide emergency assistance when the convoy of reckless riders obstructed his path.

Ignored sirens while blocking the Way

The video shows the riders lying flat on their seats in a “Superman flying pose” while weaving dangerously between lanes, ignoring both sirens and honking.

We were already racing against time, but these boys still wanted to ‘perform’ in front of us. We honked repeatedly and they pretended not to hear anything. It was unbelievable,” he wrote.

At one point, the ambulance was forced to slow down as the stunt riders refused to move aside, making the situation even more dangerous.

Under Section 9(2) of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (LN166/59), road users who fail to give way to emergency vehicles such as police cars, ambulances or fire engines may face a RM300 fine.

Netizens’ comment

Netizens were outraged by the group’s behaviour, describing it as heartless and idiotic.

“Isn’t an ambulance supposed to have a ‘license to glide through’ no matter what’s blocking the road?”

“Out of those 10 bikes, confirm 6 or 7 of them don’t even have a license. 100% confirm… ahaha.”
